While visiting Treasure Island we had planned on enjoying some long overdue R&R. However, the universe had other plans for us. It all began while leisurely strolling beachside. We heard the live music and followed the sounds of people having fun straight into Sloppy Joe’s located inside the Bilmar Beach Resort.
On our first night our server, Janique, was super professional and welcoming. She guided us through the menu and made some great suggestions. For our drinks, Doris ordered the Orange Blossom which is made with Grey Goose, St. Germain, and Splash of Orange Juice all topped with Ginger-ale. I had the Rum Runner, the original Florida Keys drink made with Key West local rum mixed with fruit juices. For our starters, we ordered the peel-and-eat shrimp which is a half-pound of perfectly seasoned shrimp accompanied by the cocktail sauce and a wedge of lemon. It was a bit chilly out, so we agreed that a Lobster Bisque would warm us, and it truly hit the spot. For the mains, Doris ordered the Sirloin Wedge which is made with iceberg lettuce, bleu cheese crumbles, blue cheese ranch, sliced sirloin (made to your preferred temperature), bacon bits, diced tomato, green onion, and fried onion. Doris loved the wedge! All of the flavors were absolutely delicious. I ordered the Cancun Chicken Bowl made with freshly grilled chicken, yellow rice, black beans, green leafy lettuce, Cheddar Jack Cheese, fried tortilla strips with Pico De Gallo, and a choice of dressing.
On our second night, we ordered the same drinks. For our entrees I ordered the Grouper Sandwich (your choice of grilled or blackened) topped with green leaf lettuce, tomato, and onion accompanied by lemon wedge & tartar sauce. Doris had an incredibly delicious Lobster Macaroni and cheese made with Cavatappi Pasta, three cheese sauces, and sweet & savory lobster meat with garlic toast. For dessert, we ordered the Pineapple Upside-Down, made with fresh pineapple cake, Breyer’s vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and a cherry on top. Everything was absolutely delicious and the service was impeccable!
On our final night, we ordered the Irish Nachos that are put together with kettle chips, whiskey beer cheese sauce, meat sauce, and green onion we also ordered the Cheese Burger in Paradise (cooked to the perfect temperature requested), the Quesadilla made with Fajita Chicken, Cheddar Jack Cheese, sautéed onions & peppers accompanied with Pico De Gallo & Sour Cream. For dessert, we had the Key Lime Pie which tasted like Key West’s Best! Our server, Taylor, was terrific as was all of the staff on each of the 3 nights that we visited. We loved the music, the ambiance/vibe, the view, the food, the service, and the Whole Experience! BTW we never go ANYWHERE two nights in a row!
Again, we had no intention of working but after eating dinner here 3 nights in a row of EXCELLENT food and service. I felt compelled to write this review.
