Much like walking through the Golden Doors at the Pompano Beach location, the moment we stepped inside this Golden Door we felt the positive vibe emanating from the staff. The ambiance & décor of the West Palm Beach location are modern however the allure of the aroma is exactly the same. We would be remiss if we forget to share that the bar located immediately left of the entrance is majestic in size, and modern, to say beautiful is just an understatement. We have pictures! The most beautiful function room I have ever seen is just right of the bar. The colors are vivid and hypnotic. More pictures are included.
Seth who was our server for the evening was very friendly and provided great suggestions when it came to food and drink selection.
We were a party of 8 but Doris and I arrived early to get a feel for the location. Once seated Seth, our server for the evening took our drink orders. Doris ordered The Dessert Mule which is a black raspberry spin of a Tito’s Mule, ginger beer, lime, and mint. I had an Old Timer which is their version of an Old Fashioned made with Redemption Rye Bourbon. Both were outstanding but “My Old Timer came with a smoke show”. (He said braggadociously, NOT! LOL) When he returned with the drinks, he reviewed the menu options for the party and offered a few suggestions. As with the other location they have a fairly priced and extensive specialty drink menu that is well worth checking out.
For the purpose of comparison, we ordered almost identical as our Pompano visit. We ordered the Hummus and Falafel appetizers simply because they were our favorites from the Mezza La Vie & Grill that we had ordered in Pompano. For our main order we took Seth’s advice and ordered The Supreme Mixed Grill Kabob Combination Platter of Fillet Mignon, Chicken & Kefta, Grilled Veggies & Basmati Rice) in the Fixed Sharing Section of the menu. Seth said it is the best thing to order if you want a good variety of the flavors they have to offer.
Again, I am pretty sure that this was the best hummus that I have ever had. The falafels were absolutely delicious.
We were lucky enough to catch the 7:30 pm and 9 pm belly dancer show. Just like before you will feel as if you were no longer in South Florida but somewhere in Beirut. The dance could only be described as artistic, graceful, and yet mystic. The entire dining room was captivated by both 20-minute shows. (The second features a fire dance.)
As our dinner arrived, I could only think “What a feast?” The entire meal was a magnificent explosion of tastes smells and flavors. All of the meats were masterfully seasoned and cooked to perfection. The filet Mignon melts in your mouth. This was my second time eating Kefta and now a big fan. Even the rice is so simple, yet bursting with flavor. The Modern Arabic Décor is so appealing and eye captivating. They have an outdoor café style seating patio area. Prepare to be captivated, entertained, and transported to a land where you can relax and feel like Royalty. Did I just hear Taylor whisper, “Hookah lounge”? Bring your friends, family, and your appetite!
Summing things up just as in the Pompano location we had a great night with excellent food, service, and really good company. So grateful for you Jill, Erika, the Birthday Girl Taylor, and the gentlemen who love them.
