Doris and I were recently in Boca Raton taking care of some SoFloDining business. While we were checking out the area for dining prospects for a future Royal Palm Place Series, we stumbled across Patio Tapas and Beer.
As we approached the restaurant Esteban welcomed us into the establishment and offered us menus and a choice of seating inside or out. We were on our way to a meeting so we told him that we would return later for a late lunch. Which we did.
Upon our return, we were again greeted by a most welcoming Esteban. This time we took a table inside so that I was able to get a better view of the operation. We ordered off the extensive happy hour menu.
We began by ordering the exquisite Sangria that Esteban told us was imported and then finished by adding fruit at the restaurant.
We ordered as follows:
1.) Gambas, a Toasted baguette with wild-caught gulf shrimp, topped off with garlic sauce.
2.) Jamon Iberico y Manchego which consisted of toasted bread, jamon, and Manchego cheese.
3.) Chorizo Iberico Curado prepared with Toasted baguette and chorizo Curado.
4.) Taponade which is Kalamata olives, anchovies, sundried tomatoes, capers, lemon zest, and garlic over a toasted baguette.
Each was better than the next. So much so that we ordered a second round consisting of:
1.) Manchego which is the six-month-aged Manchego cheese and membrillo.
2.) Mahon which is a six-month-aged cow’s milk cheese and wild fig marmalade. Another round of excellent choices.
As we enjoyed our tapas, we conversed with Esteban almost making us feel as if we were in a café somewhere in Spain. What a wonderful find! We most definitely will return to do a complete review for our SoFloDining followers. But for now, I will savor my Sangria and tapas and a memorable afternoon with a charming and knowledgeable server gifted with unparalleled benevolence.

Site recommended by a friend – reportedly publishes the good, the bad and the ugly. I hope so.
Restaurant dining frequently – 5/6 days / wk. looking forward to future issues
