While staying at the Bluegreen Hammocks at Marathon Resort we were lucky enough to stumble upon Barnacle Barney’s Tiki Bar and Grill. It is a quaint location just beyond the main pool in front of the boat docks. On our first night, we stopped in for a few adult beverages while we enjoyed the atmosphere as well as the view. On our second day in Marathon, we decided to have lunch there rather than leave the resort. It ended up being a great choice. Doris ordered the Black and Bluegreen burger consisting of a Blackened 8oz Black Angus burger cooked to your temp and topped with blue cheese crumbles, lettuce, tomato, and onion. Doris never put the burger down once she started eating, it was really that good. I went with the Hammock also made with a cooked-to-order 8oz Black Angus Burger topped with Caramelized Onion, Mushrooms, Swiss Cheese, lettuce, and tomato. I, like Doris, did not put it down once I started. We both had root beers for our beverage. The price was VERY reasonable and the quality is what I have come to expect at a Bluegreen resort. We highly recommend this location when you are in the area. Breakfast is also served at 8 a.m. Stop in and don’t forget to tell them that their friends at SoFloDining sent you.
