Florida Keys Steak and Lobster House

The Florida Keys Steak and Lobster House was originally known as Joe’s Florida Keys Lobster House, owned by Joe Rabito, for 20 years, it was then sold to John Ely in February 1998. John’s wife Maria Arvelo Ely currently runs the business and is doing a phenomenal job.  This year they have won Best Place to Take a Date, Best Fine Dining and Best Bloody Mary.

We were promptly seated upon our arrival.  The dining room space is incredible. From the fresh décor to the high dark wood ceilings and I would be remiss if I left out the huge bubbling water wall right in the middle of the whole space.

Stephanie our server took our drink orders and went over the menu options with us.  They have an extensive menu with plenty of seafood, steaks and chops as well as   sushi.

They also offer Stone Grilled Dining “The Hottest Concept in Healthy Dining. Stone Grill Dining is a new and exciting experience that allows your meal to be presented raw on a heated stone for you to cook at your table to your personal taste. High temperature sears in all the natural juices, nutrients & flavor.”

For our drinks Doris had a Moscow Mule and I had an Old Fashioned.  Both were excellent pours and classically prepared.

We opted for the Frito Misto appetizer which consisted of lightly battered calamari and shrimp topped with cilantro and fried onions with a chipotle mayo.  It was Absolutely DELICIOUS!

Doris ordered the Shrimp Scampi entrée which featured Jumbo Shrimp sautéed in white wine garlic and herb butter.  She said that it was the perfect wine to butter ratio.  I ordered the Baked Stuffed Shrimp. The Jumbo Shrimp are stuffed with lump crabmeat and baked with white wine, garlic butter and lemon. They were absolute perfection in preparation, presentation and taste.

They pride themselves on good food and good service at a fair price. They serve only the best quality and freshest products available. It is evident that they never compromise on the quality of their beef, proudly serving the finest beef, which is hand selected and wet aged for 21 days for premium flavor and tenderness. The seafood is fresh and most definitely of the best quality.

We finished the night off by splitting a slice of the Salted Caramel Cheesecake that was on another level of deliciousness. FYI Birthday girl, Doris made Stephanie promise not to sing happy birthday.
