After attending an event at the Plaza Down Under on the Riverwalk in Jupiter, Doris and I decided to have dinner at Harbourside Place before going home. We have heard a lot of good things about Mana Greek Fusion from fellow foodies from the area. We were greeted with an open-door welcome. This is so very rare these days but sets such an impression. The hostess was welcoming and friendly and sat us immediately. The restaurant was very open and airy and the tables were well-spaced.
Shortly after we were seated Julio our server came over and poured us water and took our drink orders. I had a dark rum and coke and Doris the Moscow Mule. Both drinks were great pours and garnished appropriately. Julio then brought us over some delicious bread that he boasted was freshly baked daily in-house. For our appetizer, we had the Falafel which is prepared with ground chickpeas, cumin, parsley, cilantro, red onion, and hummus. Julio asked us if we wanted the happy hour portion of 2 or the regular order of 4. We opted for the smaller one as we both agreed upon saving room for dessert.
For our entrees Doris was going to have the Greek Salad but after Julio described the Beet Salad of Red & gold beets, spinach, arugula, walnuts, manouri cheese, balsamic glaze, EVOO, Doris serendipitously ordered it with a side of Gyro meat. What a wonderful blend of flavors that was beautifully presented you almost didn’t want to mess it up. I ordered the Pastitsio prepared with macaroni, house-made beef sauce, bechamel, rice, and veggies. This is a test of a true Greek restaurant. Julio told us that it was prepared daily. Well not only did they pass the Greek test with flying colors; I now want to drive back an hour and 20 minutes to have more. This is a MUST have, all the flavors are balanced and complement each other to a point near absolute perfection.
To this point, Julio had not steered us wrong so you know who we let pick our dessert. Julio brought us over a delicious Cheesecake Baklava yes you read right I said Cheesecake Baklava was presented with seasonal spoon sweets & Greek honey.
If you are remotely near Jupiter and are in need of some really good Greek cuisine or just a really great meal, do yourself a favor and visit Mana Greek Fusion.
I must say that Julio our server was incredibly professional. Rarely do you find a waiter or waitress with such pride and enthusiasm over the items on the menu. He had no doubt that we would like whatever we ordered. I wish every restaurant in our SoFloDining lineup could have someone like him on their staff. We rarely spotlight a staff member, this is an unsolicited testament to a staff member who is the definition of a true asset.
Tips & Notes:
· The menu items are updated frequently to keep the variety fresh
· Very friendly staff (Julio, the bus girl, and even the hostess)
