It’s always a good idea to listen to a local expert, and when Christine Ferris of South Florida’s Best Food Tours gives a recommendation, you know it’s going to be a good one. During a taping of Unstoppable Woman Entrepreneur of South Florida, Christine Ferris recommended that we visit Miraggio Italian Grill in nearby Pompano Beach. She raved about the service, quality of food, and the view. Well, she was right on the money. What we found during our visit is truly a Hidden Gem with an interesting Intracoastal View.
The moment the doors open, you step into pure opulence. Looking overhead is a running video of what I believe is the Italian Coast, looking absolutely beautiful with its vibrant colors. We were greeted by our host and waiter, Angelo, who gave us a choice of inside or outside seating. It was hard to resist the outdoor seating along the Intracoastal Waterway, but we chose indoors to get a better view of the immaculate open kitchen.
Angelo advised us of the irresistible Happy Hour offerings. Appetizers and drinks are 50% off (at the time of review). Doris started off with what she described as a delicious classically prepared Aperol Spritz. For our appetizer, we went with the Carpaccio, which is thinly sliced tenderloin, arugula, shaved parmesan, EVOO, cracked pepper, and aioli. This has to be one of the best carpaccios that I have had in a very long time.
For our entrée, Doris chose the Grilled Faroe Islands Salmon, spinach, and steamed Broccoli. Faroe Islands Salmon, which is known for its high quality and sustainable farming practices. This salmon is raised in the cold, clean waters between Iceland and Norway, resulting in a rich, buttery, and clean-tasting fish. It was her first time having Faroe Islands Salmon and definitely not her last. I asked Angelo to bring me one of the chicken dishes other than the Parmesan. He chose the Chicken Marsala prepared with 3 nice-sized pieces of Chicken breast, mushrooms, and Marsala wine. Served with Crispy Brussels Sprouts. The dish was prepared perfectly, and the mushroom, wine, and brown sauce were balanced perfectly. We ended the meal with the house-made Tiramisu, which was another masterpiece. So, if you are looking for a really good local spot that is sure to impress, Miraggio Italian Grill is the spot for you. Get ready to have your senses wowed. You need to visit now, before the secret gets out! We predict that it is destined to be the hottest reservation in town by the time the snowbirds land. Thank you again, Christine Ferris, for the fantastic recommendation.
