Thai Me Up is one of those places that you can’t help but love more and more with each and every visit. The entire place has been redone from top to bottom including a new menu and a beautiful outdoor patio. It seems so much bigger and brighter than before.
We entered the hostess area and were instantly transported to Thailand. The lighting, the Buddha, the bright colors, and the beautiful décor. After we were seated, Bobby, our server for the evening explained the menu and specials to us. We started off with Thai Ice Tea and an incredible Mango Mojito for our beverages. If you love Thai Iced Tea, you will agree hands down that this is the best around. As for the Mojito, Bobby makes the best. A perfect balance of ingredients. For our appetizer, we ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp which are buttermilk-battered and tossed with a creamy yuzu emulsion. The shrimp were plentiful, tender, and sweet with just the right amount of yuzu. We also had an order of the Crispy Calamari which is batter-fried squid T&T accompanied by peanut sambal sauce. The calamari was so tender and the sambal sauce was a welcome bonus. Doris said she was enjoying the crunchy and firmness perfection and that topping all that deliciousness with the peanut sambal sauce was a trip to heaven.
For our main dishes, we ordered the Thai Fried Rice that was prepared with egg, collard greens, onion, cherry tomato, and scallion and we chose to add shrimp and the Massaman Curry Chicken which consisted of tender pieces of chicken in a mild golden curry with sweet potato, cashew nut, an avocado that is served with a side of white rice, a true delight. We also had an order of Shrimp Pad Thai one of their most popular dishes. It is made with a good amount of jumbo shrimp Thai rice noodles stir-fried with tamarind sauce, egg, scallion, Mung bean sprout, and peanut. The balance of flavor in ALL of the dishes was absolutely incredible. Again, the texture and flavors were all on point. They serve amazing authentic Thai and Sushi. The menu is well-rounded and very easy to navigate. This restaurant is an actual crown pleaser they offer nice size portions, hot food, and a wait staff that is very courteous, friendly, and willing to please. We really must return to try the dessert.
