La Vie Lebanese Restaurant

From the moment we stepped foot through the front door we could feel the positive energy vibe and were instantly transported to Tripoli through the ambiance décor and smells.  The entire staff (especially Muhammed) was very friendly and provided great suggestions when it came to food selection.

Initially, we had a Thursday night reservation for 2 but had to bump it up to 5 as we met up with friends on the way to the restaurant. When we arrived I advised the hostess who graciously took care of the change instantly.  Once seated Muhammed took our drink orders, reviewed the menu with us, and offered a few suggestions. They have a fairly priced and extensive specialty drink menu that is well worth checking out before placing the order.  Such as the Mystic Riddle which is made with apple and pear vodka, basil, kiwi puree, and lime juice. Doris ordered The Dessert Mule which is a black raspberry spin of a Tito’s Mule, ginger beer, lime, and mint.  I had an Old Timer, their version of an Old Fashioned made with Redemption Rye Bourbon.

For our main order, we took the advice of our server. We ordered the Mezza La Vie & Grill (an appetizer combination consisting of Hummus, Baba Ghanouj, Tabbouleh, Fattoush, Falafel, Grape Leaves & Cheese Burak.  All of this is followed by The Supreme Mixed Grill Kabob Combination Platter of Filet Mignon, Chicken & Kefta, Grilled Veggies & Basmati Rice) in the Fixed Sharing Section of the menu.  Muhammed said it is the best thing to order if you want a good variety of the flavors they have to offer.

The appetizers alone were a feast to be had they were so delicious I am pretty sure that this was the best hummus that I have ever had.  The falafels were to die for and don’t get me started on the Cheese Burak (Olneymar’s favorite).

At this point, the belly dancer show started and again you feel as if you were no longer in South Florida but somewhere in Beirut.  The dance could only be described as artistic, graceful, and yet mystic. The entire dining room was captivated by the entire 20-minute show.

As our dinner arrived I could only think “what another feast?” The next round of food was just as formidable as the first.  The entire meal was an explosion of magnificent tastes smells and flavors that are just all-around excellent.  All of the meats were masterfully seasoned and cooked to perfection.  The filet mignon melts in your mouth. This was my first time eating Kefta and now I can’t wait to order it as an entree.  Even the rice is so simple, yet bursting with flavor. Bring your appetite!

Summing things up we had a great night with excellent food, service, and really good company.
