We have not been to Aruba Beach Café in a few months so we decided that it was time to do a SoFloDining update on a local favorite. So, on this hot September day, we met up with Joe, an associate of ours. He is an Aruba regular and knows the menu inside and out. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by the lively band and live music, what could be better? We were quickly seated at a beachside window table. Our server, Gabriel, greeted us and offered to take our drink orders as we reviewed the extensive menu. For our entrees, Joe ordered the Seafood Quesadilla that was prepared with a flour tortilla, fresh fish, shrimp, scallops, jack and cheddar cheese, with guacamole, sour cream, and salsa. The seafood quesadilla was full of seafood and looked incredible, Joe enjoyed it so much that he took some home to have for later. Doris ordered the Sesame Crusted Salmon that came topped with a teriyaki soy glaze, white rice, tropical vegetables, wakame, wasabi, and pickled ginger. The serving size was large and once Doris took the first bit there was no stopping her. Needless to say, empty plate. I ordered the Fried Grouper Sandwich which was a lunch special. The fish was battered and cooked to perfection. The portion size again was more than adequate and yes, I finished the entire sandwich. So, for review purposes, Aruba has not missed a beat and remains, as always, on point.
They are currently running a **Summertime 50% off lunch at the bar only. The Happy Hour here at Aruba Beach Cafe is always fun and loaded with value. The Angus Sliders are always a great choice. I would also have to say that the PEI Mussels in Cream Sauce and pot stickers are a few of “my go-to for starters” on the Happy Hour menu. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu; the kitchen here is and always has been top-notch. Chef Chris Nealon has won multiple awards and accolades for his creative cuisine. I have been here many times and can tell you that this is where the party is at. They are crowded every night and live entertainment always rocks. If you are here on vacation this is where you want to go for fun. The food is always good, the prices are fair, and the place is very clean. A pair of favorite drinks to order is The Sea Breeze & Bay Breeze they are both a great refreshing break from the day.
