This place was amazing!! If you are in need of some really good authentic Mexican food and flavors this is definitely the spot. For our starters we ordered the Street Corn topped with Cotija Cheese and Chili Powder that is absolutely a must as are the Chips & Salsa and don’t forget the house made Guacamole.
Doris and I split our entrees. Doris ordered the The Birria Quesadilla which consisted of Flour Tortilla, Queso Fresco, Brisket, Oxtail Short Ribs and Stew Meat, topped with Cilantro and white onion with a side of Birria Sauce. I also ordered a Quesadilla, the Carnitas Quesadilla which is served with a side of pico de gallo, sour cream, and filled with 3 Mexican cheeses. The portion and presentation was far beyond my expectations, there was an explosion of flavor in every bite. For our beverages we opted for a pitcher of Mango Caipirinha (Brazil’s national cocktail, made with cachaça, sugar, and lime, all that I can say is WOW! We will be getting that again!
You really can’t go wrong with anything on their menu. It has so many fresh flavors going on and is also loaded with many vegetarian options.
The location is another Wilton Manors hidden treasure with a beautiful bohemian setting. Kind of like Tijuana meets Wynwood. It is a very cozy storefront with great food & prices.
We highly recommend stopping by La Mexicana Taco Bar to get a taste of real Mexican cuisine. We were lucky in that the weather cooperated and there was live entertainment during our visit. I can say with confidence that they probably have some of the most authentic Mexican food that we have had in a long while. It’s a perfect place to spend a leisurely weekend afternoon in an eclectic setting with good company and excellent food and service. Thank you, Alejandra for your knowledge of the menu and for helping us to make our selections. We will definitely be back to explore the menu further, bring family and friends and of course, expand on this review.
