Le Val de Loire Restaurant comes highly recommended to us by many of our followers. Le Val de Loire Restaurant is one of the many dining establishments located in The Deerfield Beach Cove Shopping Center. As you approach the restaurant you instantly get the feeling that you are walking through a sidewalk cafe in Paris.
As we entered the restaurant we were instantly greeted by the hostess and owner Nadine who checked in our reservation. She guided us thru the dining room to our reserved table. While so doing, I could not help but notice how impeccably the dining room was set, right down to a bottle of red wine on every table.
Upon being seated, Nadine introduced us to our server who offered us water and took our drink orders. For our drinks, Doris had a Moscow Mule which was absolutely incredible and I had an Old Fashioned which was also properly made and presented. The menu is divided into two sections you can choose a la carte or you can choose the 3-course meal option. With the 3-course meal, you get the soup of the day, house salad or a choice of appetizers, the entrée, and a choice of numerous desserts. Keep in mind that there are some upcharges for special appetizers and or desserts. However, there is no shortage of options on the choices that are included.
Shortly after placing our order, bread was brought to the table as well as some freshly tossed Garlic Bread Cubes. For her starter, Doris ordered the Escargots de Bourgogne which is snails cooked in a garlic butter sauce. For my starter, I ordered the Classic French Onion Soup which consists of Sauteed Onions, Homemade Broth, and Croutons, topped with Swiss Cheese. To start Doris’ Escargot was tender and loaded with delicious garlic flavoring. My French Onion Soup is stand-alone one of the best onion soups that I’ve ever had. The cheese was perfectly melted and not burnt and the broth was deliciously seasoned and not one bit salty whatsoever.
At this point, Doris and I ordered our entrees. I convinced her to order the Grouper from Tonight’s Specials Menu and I ordered the Beef Bourguignon “Cocotte” which is a beef stew that is cooked in red wine and has boiled potatoes and vegetables. My Beef Bourguignon “Cocotte” was incredibly flavorful and classically prepared right down the covered crock in which it was served. The potatoes and vegetables were perfectly cooked and the meat was fork-tender. Doris’ Grouper Special was also a culinary masterpiece that was cooked to perfection right down to the veggies. The Grouper was moist yet crisp on the outside. The dish was served with a pyramid of white rice that was also perfectly cooked and seasoned. Chef Fabrice Laurent is truly gifted and obviously knows what works.
For our desserts, we ordered the Creme Brulee, which was prepared and served in traditional fashion, and the Flaming Bananas Foster which was brought and flamed at the table.
We both absolutely loved the atmosphere, décor, and vibe that is nurtured as you dine here complemented by the red chandeliers. Chef Fabrice Laurent and his wife Nadine have been in business for over 31 years and run like a finely tuned clock. As we were exiting we could not help but notice the beautiful and appetizing baked goods and pastries that they have to offer. One item is fresher than the next.
