Doris and I recently found ourselves in the Hillsboro Inlet area on a Saturday evening. On this occasion, we had eaten an early dinner and therefore were now looking for some light fare to hold us through the rest of the evening. I recalled a Rick Tobin video a while back featuring Nonna’s. Confident in Rick’s impeccable track record of picking good places to eat, we decided to give it a shot. Nonna’s bills themselves as an Argentinean Restaurant with a Latin Fusion Bakery and Café.
When we entered the restaurant, they were preparing the dining room for the evening service. We took a table in the Café area in front of the pastry display so that we would be able to take a look at what they had to offer.
Our server, Marisela, was very helpful in reviewing the menu with us and helping us to decide what to order. We ordered the Argentinian sausage that is served with toasted bread and a side of chimichurri sauce. We also had three different types of empanadas. The first was the Steak, the second was Pepperoni and Cheese, and the third was Ham and cheese. All that I can say is that one Empanada was better than the next and I could not pick a favorite. They were that good, in fact, I want to go back and try all the other variations that they offer. For dessert, we went with 2 Café con Leche and a slice of Ricotta Cake which we shared. We will definitely return in the near future for a complete meal service.
When we were leaving the live entertainment was just starting. Don’t forget to let them know that their friends at SoFloDining sent you. Chef Dan & Doris WithaD #SoFloDining
