Located in the heart of Boynton Beach, Antonacci Artisan Pizza Cafe is a vibrant gem in the Boynton Lakes Plaza that brings a meticulously curated taste of Italy to South Florida. A recent visit allowed Doris and me to explore a menu that radiates a dedication to tradition, heritage, and high-quality ingredients.

From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere signaled an immersive dining experience. Founded by three brothers from Bitonto, Italy, the restaurant is unique in its concept: a culinary tribute to all 20 regions of Italy, with one distinct pizza representing each. It is a journey as soul-warming as it is refined.

Our exploration centered around two separate medium pies, showcasing the kitchen’s incredible range:

Sardegna: This was a revelation. Representing the rugged beauty of Sardinia, it was topped with thinly sliced, perfectly grilled octopus, fresh mozzarella, garlic, and parsley. Finished with Pecorino Romano and a drizzle of EVOO, it was an artistic creation that was both light and deeply flavorful.

Valle d’Aosta: The freshness of the ingredients shone through in this northern-inspired dish. Featuring savory pancetta and perfectly balanced chopped broccoli rabe, it was layered with mozzarella and garlic. The marriage of the salty pork and the slight bitterness of the greens was brilliantly put together.

Every pizza is crafted on a locally made sourdough crust and baked to perfection in a cherry wood-burning oven imported directly from Italy. This creates a rustic, unforgettable base for their 20 regional masterpieces—though they do offer a 21st “Americana” for those seeking a familiar comfort.

The experience was rounded out by a duo of spectacular desserts. The Tiramisu was quite simply one of the best I have had in a very long time—easily landing in my top five. However, the Sfogliatella stole the show. It was Doris’ first time trying this flaky, tiered pastry, and it is officially her new favorite dessert.

The Ultimate FOMO moment: Antonacci provides a high-quality dining experience where every regional profile is respected and no corners are cut. The quality of the sourdough crust and the authenticity of the toppings ring true as a testament to the brothers’ passion for their homeland. We will definitely be back to try the other 18 pies!
