Located in the heart of the bustling Dania Pointe development, Sirocco Mediterranean is a vibrant gem bringing an authentic taste of Lebanon to South Florida. A recent visit for a fresh taping of Who’s at The Chef’s Table allowed Doris and me to explore a menu that radiates a dedication to tradition, heritage, and high-quality ingredients.

From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere signaled an immersive dining experience. I sat down with owner Tarek Younes for an extensive interview, after which we were treated to a curated lunch that perfectly showcased the restaurant’s soul. Tarek selected various items off the menu to get us acquainted with the cuisine, and he took the wheel, charting a course that can only be described as a Lebanese journey as soul-warming as it is refined.

A Feast for the Senses

Our exploration centered around a spectacular feast for the eyes and the palate that showcased the kitchen’s incredible range:

  • Mixed Appetizers Plate: Every single one was better than the last. We indulged in perfectly creamy Hummus (chickpea paté with sesame tahini paste & lemon juice) and flavorful Veggie Grape Leaves rolled with rice & veggies cooked in lemon sauce.
  • Cheese Rolls & Fried Kibbe: The Cheese Rolls were stuffed with fine imported cheese mix, crispy on the outside & gooey on the inside. However, the standout was the Fried Kibbe—fried beef and cracked wheat filled with sautéed spiced ground beef. Tarek demonstrated how to present it by cracking one open and pouring the house-made tahini sauce over the center.
  • Sirocco Grill: For the main course, we tried the grill platter served with Mediterranean rice. It featured skewers of Fillet Kabob, Kafta Kabob, & Chicken Tawook, accompanied by tahini sauce and garlic aioli. All I can say is OH My God—I have found my new favorite cuisine.

The Star of the Show: Lebanese Bistec

But it got even better. The star of the show and the most popular item in the house is the Lebanese Bistec. These pan-seared tender medallions topped with mushroom sauce & served with mashed potatoes are hands-down one of the BEST entrees that I have EVER had.

If you follow us, you know that I never claim anything is the “best.” Trust me, you have not lived until you have tried the Lebanese Bistec. If I could only eat one thing for the rest of my life, this would be it.

We rounded out the experience sharing the Pistachio Baklava—fresh-baked flaky pastry topped with pistachio sprinkles. Just like the rest of the meal, it was delicate but jam-packed with flavor.

The Ultimate FOMO Moment

Sirocco provides a high-quality dining experience where every flavor profile is respected and no corners are cut. The quality of every dish rings through as a testament to Tarek’s dedication to his craft. We are so grateful for the incredible hospitality; the flavors and the education on Lebanese culture were truly top-tier.

We encourage everyone to visit and share in this flavor journey.
