We must have passed this establishment at least a hundred times and never noticed all these wonderful eateries hidden in this plaza. Most of North University is like this. If you’re driving basically all you’ll see are trees on either side. You really have to pull off into the plazas and explore what there is to be found back there. Truly, there are so many great restaurants in this area just waiting to be discovered.
After receiving numerous requests on the SoFloDining website for us to explore the Coral Springs area we decided after doing all my background and research that it was time to pay a visit to Embarcadero 41. This incredible little restaurant is located on the Northbound side of University Drive just before Sample Road. It’s located inside University Place in Coral Springs, once you arrive you can’t help but notice how busy this area actually is.
As we entered the restaurant the first thing that strikes me is how bright this establishment is. It is absolutely immaculately clean. Once we entered, we were quickly seated and given water and menus. After reviewing the extensive menu, Doris and I decided to ask our server, Daniela about the variety of fresh fruit drinks. In order to help us make a decision, our server brought us a sample of each for us to decide which we would like. Doris decided to have a Maracuya (passion fruit) juice. I opted for the Chicha which is a beverage that originated in the Andean regions of Perú. It is made from purple corn, along with fruit and spices. Both of these drinks were absolutely spectacular!
At this point, we ordered our entrees, and we opted for an appetizer and two rolls. We ordered the Pulpo Anticuchero which is made with Octopus marinated in a traditional panca chili sauce, and the Maki Parrillero Roll which consists of Panko breaded shrimp with avocado, covered with fusion-style grilled octopus, torched to a crispy point with cream cheese and eel sauce on top and a Lucky Maki Roll which is stuffed with plantain, avocado, panko breaded shrimp and topped with sesame seed and sweet cream cheese. All were delicious I could not pick a favorite.
As the food arrived it was like one beautiful artistic creation after another. Not to mention the cornucopia of aromas and flavors which were on the table. Daniela our server, was impeccable every time she passed our table she made sure to check on us and bus our table as needed.
From there we had our dessert Mousse de Maracuta (Passionfruit Mousse) which was something that I have never before seen on a menu so I had to give it a try. I’m very glad that I did decide to try it because it has to be one of the best desserts that I’ve had in a very long time. So good so that Doris even commented that she can see herself stopping by during the week just to get one “to go”. All in all, the place was immaculately clean. All of the food was delicious and the service is perfect with a sharing of busing and providing water or a utensil as each server looks after the other servers’ tables and contributes to said perfection. Definitely, a place that we will go back to again and definitely a place that we recommend.
