Hangry Al’s

We were recently in the Pembroke Pines area and decided to do an update and revisit of Hangry Al’s.  Our original review was almost 3 years ago and it was done on the old location.  This was our first visit to the new location.  Based on the first visit, I knew that it was going to be good; however, in no way could I ever have imagined that it would be this outstanding!

As soon as we walked in we were pleasantly greeted by the 2 gentlemen behind the counter.  After reviewing the extensive menu we ordered 2 subs: the El Cubano, and the Mama Mia. For dessert we opted for the Carrot Cake.  We decided to have our sandwiches to go.  While we waited I couldn’t help but notice how immaculately clean this location is.  Once home, we dug into our sandwiches I could not stop eating.  It was one delicious bite after another.  The Mama Mia was reminiscent of an Italian sub that I would order from a local sub shop during my high school days in Elizabeth, N.J. The Cubano was also incredible; the roasted pork on the sandwich was seasoned to perfection, tender and moist.  All of the meats on the subs were top quality Boar’s Head Brand.

I saved the best for last as I would be remiss if I did not mention how delicious the home made carrot cake was.  It was so good that it actually elevated the whole meal to another level.  Everything here at Hangry Al’s is stand alone delicious. But once you start to add items and mix and match you will climb a culinary ladder of flavors that will leave you coming back for more, over and over again.

So if you are looking for a great sub shop that serves the most deliciously crafted subs and salads and utilizes only Boars Head provisions with the freshest possible ingredients, this is the place for you.  This location is family owned and operated.  The service is warm, friendly and efficient.  They are conveniently located on Sheridan St. just west of I-75.  This location is a gem just waiting for you to discover it!

They have plenty of parking and a good selection of sandwiches & salads.  We have heard so many good things about the Philly Cheese Steak that we will have to return, soon.  Of course, we will definitely have to get another Carrot Cake or two.   You will get great value for your money and don’t forget to leave some room for delicious homemade cakes.

As they say on their webpage “it will be love at first bite!”
