When the search for a dining experience that immediately reflects the many memorable moments in golf’s history leaves you overwhelmed, trust the redesigned resort gem: Honeybelle at the PGA National Resort and Spa is the unequivocal “must-visit.” The moment you enter, you notice the enormous $100 million renovation and the classic, 1960s-inspired lobby.

The atmosphere is one of vibrant, refined celebration. The 1960s-inspired lobby is stunning, complete with period furniture and a 1,500 LED light banyan tree that illuminates the enormity of the new lobby bar. Honeybelle itself is an indoor/outdoor cafe-style restaurant that is very reminiscent of the many beachside cafés in South Florida. Our server Joshua was very helpful and patiently guided us through our menu selections. This is clearly a 2022 Open Table Diners Choice Award Winner for good reason.

The flavors are extraordinary. You absolutely must try their signature drink, the Honeybelle, made with Gosling’s Gold Rum, Passion Fruit, Lemon, Pineapple, and Honey. For our appetizer, the Summer Peach Salad and Burrata was incredible—this has to be one of the best Burrata that I’ve ever had. The Shrimp Scampi was another hit, consisting of 4 very large shrimp tossed in a garlic confit and served over garlic Ciabatta bread.

For our main courses, the dishes were exquisite. Doris opted for the Local Florida Catch (Filet of Snapper over a summer corn succotash), while I had the Bucatini Americana (clams, shrimp, lump crab meat, and squid in a lobster nage). Both entrees were absolutely delicious and a delicate balance of flavors that were absolutely incredible. Chef Lindsay Autry (a Top Chef Alum) clearly has a very gifted palette.

Honeybelle offers dining experiences that few other local spots dare to attempt, specializing in perfectly executed cuisine within a world-class resort. For dessert, the Key Lime Cheesecake with toasted meringue and the Chocolate Cherry Sunday were fantastic final notes. The staff was incredibly welcoming, and we will definitely return to the property in the near future to explore the other food venues that they offer.

The ultimate FOMO moment comes from realizing the full scope of the dining experience at the newly renovated resort. You absolutely must get there early and enjoy a premeal cocktail at the stunning, 1960s-inspired lobby bar with its enormous size and 1,500 LED light banyan tree before heading to dinner.
