When the search for authentic Greek cuisine leaves you overwhelmed, trust the locals: Keese’s is the unequivocal “must-visit.” The moment you walk up, the beautifully decorated space creates a mystical Greek vibe that truly envelopes the restaurant. This is where impeccable service meets unexpected culinary abundance, reminiscent of an Athenian kafenia.
The atmosphere is one of vibrant, exotic celebration. The outside dining area is so inviting, yet cozy, but we opted for the restaurant’s exotic ambiance inside. Every detail—from the immediate, warm greeting by Karinna (who invited us to choose any table) to the perfect tap beer selection (Mythos)—speaks of genuine, relaxed hospitality. This spot is clearly a local favorite, often swamped, and a definite must-do.
The flavors are extraordinary. Start your meal with the silky, rich Avgolemono Soup (Greek-style chicken soup with lemon-egg sauce), which was exactly what the Doctor ordered for a cool night. For the main course, you will experience a true “Merry-Go-Round of Delicious Flavors.”
The Mediterranean Mix (Kefte, Chicken Gyro, Lamb Gyro, Falafel Balls, tzatziki, hummus, tahini, and pita) is a feast of variety and flavor. My choice, Grandma’s Favorite / Yiayia’s Yamista (stuffed cabbage leaves, stuffed pepper, and lemon potatoes), was another “Merry-Go-Round” of Sheer Deliciousness. This was one of the most tasty Mediterranean-style meals we’ve had in a long time.
Keese’s offers dining experiences that few other restaurants dare to attempt, perfecting every component of the meal, right down to the dessert. On your next visit, you must not miss the crowning jewel: the Karidopita (Greek Walnut Cake with Syrup). The cake was fluffy and extra syrupy, a mouthwatering delight scented with cinnamon and ground clove.
The ultimate FOMO moment comes from realizing this culinary excellence has been on your list for too long. With a full sampling enjoyed, we can tell you we will be back for more. If Mediterranean Cuisine is your desire, do yourself a solid favor, stop in, partake, and enjoy!
This restaurant’s high local demand, particularly for its atmosphere and food quality, means tables are coveted. Making reservations is advised to guarantee your table for this truly special occasion spot, which benefits from plenty of parking in the area.
