When the search for a unique, eclectic dining experience leaves you overwhelmed, trust the local gem: The Cook and The Cork is the unequivocal “must-visit.” This restaurant is unlike any other place in the Coral Springs area, exuding a great laid back attitude, excellent food, great atmosphere with friendly efficient service.

The atmosphere is one of vibrant, intimate celebration. The restaurant has a slightly eclectic and cozy setting inside, and the outdoor area, reminiscent of DADA in Delray Beach, features strung up lighting and colorful murals. The music selection was right up our alley (contemporary rock themed) at just the right volume. Our server, Jordan, was very attentive and expertly guided us through the small but extensive menu.

The flavors are extraordinary. Chef Keith Blauschild clearly has a knack for creating interesting pairings that totally work. The Red Sangria, made with a touch of cinnamon, was delicious and kind of transformed the Sangria into an apple pie—a first for us! For starters, the PEI Mussels in a Pernod sauce and the Crawfish & Shrimp Cakes with Creole Remoulade were incredible; the marriage of flavors was out of this world. The serving sizes on both dishes were incredible.

For the main course, you must not miss the creative combinations. Doris’s Tamari-Honey Glazed Short Rib was melt in your mouth tender, served over Wasabi Mashed Potatoes (“Mmmm yummmm, from now on I absolutely must have my mashed potatoes made Wasabi style, please”). My Pork Schnitzel, served with Braised Purple Cabbage and an Apple Demi, had a perfect pairing of flavors and textures. The food is classified as New American, but Global Flavors or World Influenced better describes the depth and variety.

The Cook and The Cork offers experiences that few other restaurants dare to attempt, specializing in creative, world-influenced cuisine. They are a proud recipient of the prestigious Wine Spectator Award of Excellence and the “DIRONA” Award (Distinguished Restaurants of North America). The desserts, including the Double Chocolate Brownies and the Blueberry Cobbler (both a la mode), were again, DELICIOUS!!!

The ultimate FOMO moment comes from realizing this cute, funky, artsy place offers a dining experience that’s hard to find. The wine list is sure to fit most tastes, and the staff is super friendly.

This restaurant’s high praise means you must make reservations well in advance. Be sure to take the time to chat with the staff, as our server Jordan offered excellent recommendations throughout the evening.
