A few weeks ago we had bumped into a neighbor and good friend, Sue, she highly recommended that we check out Rocca Trattoria. We were finally able to do it and were very pleasantly surprised. The menu had pictures of delicious dishes, very attentive staff and a very cozy atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. We started off with an appetizer of Fried Calamari. The Calamari was fried to a golden brown crisp perfection and served with marinara and a house made remoulade sauce. For our entrées Doris had the house made Osso Buco Ravioli that was served in a Heavenly White Cream Sauce. I opted for the classic Chicken Piccata with Roasted Fresh Vegetables which were delicately topped with a Balsamic Reduction. For dessert we split a Tiramisu that was light and tasted like it was made by an Angel. Everything was simply delicious and our server, Mishell, was very attentive. The restaurant itself is immaculately clean and well lit.
Rocca Trattoria is named in tribute to Chef Lucia Saglimbeni’s mother who was born in a small town in Sicily called Roccafiorita. Her mother and father were her inspiration for becoming a Chef. She graduated with honors at Cordon Bleu. If you are an aficionado of fine classically prepared Italian cuisine this is a place you need to check out.
