In the past month or so we have had a few recommendations to check out this establishment. Therefore, after doing our research, I decided to take Amorcita there for (Valentine’s Day Dinner 1 week late LOL). I must say that this is without a doubt a really great place for you to take your better half for dinner. I would highly recommend this location, especially for a special day or just because you want to surprise them with a romantic evening.
From what I understand Wazers who set their GPS to the marina’s address will most likely find themselves running into peacocks, a dead-end, or even the wrong guardhouse as we did. It’s confusing but once you find the right gate, tell the guard you’re going to the restaurant and they’ll wave you through.
So let’s get to the food… We arrived early 6:15 for our 7:30. We had already decided to come early to enjoy and take advantage of the great happy hour deals. Within a few minutes, we were able to get seats at the bar and quickly engage in conversation with a couple from England. Charlie and Sean had already been there enjoying Mules and appetizers. Doris and I quickly ordered drinks, I had an old-fashioned and Doris had a Tito’s Moscow Mule, both were excellent pours. We then proceeded to order a few appetizers from the Happy Hour menu the first being the Crispy Brussels Sprouts and the second the Caprese Flatbread. Let me tell you that both were excellent and excellent portion size.
I checked us in at the hostess station at around 7:45 and we were promptly seated on the outside dock area alongside the Mega Yachts. During the daylight hours, there’s plenty of shade as they cover the dining area with umbrellas. Once the sun goes down they fold up the umbrellas so you are able to enjoy the Florida open sky. At our table, we ordered a second round of drinks Doris had another Tito’s Moscow Mule and I had the Tip Sea Old Fashioned (Redemption High-Rye Bourbon, Brown Sugar, Orange, Coffee Liquor, and Bitters) which is a must-have for any Old Fashioned lover. For our entrees, Doris ordered the Blackened Mahi Mahi sandwich that was simply out of this world. It had to be one of the freshest tasting pieces of Mahi I’ve had in a long time. I ordered the Seared Scallops (Corn Puree, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Scallion, Wild Mushrooms, and Vanilla-Lemon Brown Butter) that were so good I could not stop once I began eating. LOL, I have to say that the combination of flavors was incredible. I honestly didn’t know what I liked more the sauce or the scallops. Service was on point; Kimberly, our server suggested that we try the Strudel Bread Pudding for dessert. Everything was so good we opted to order it but have it packed to go.
I believe that YOT opened in late 2019 and is owned and created by Mike Linder who is also the owner of Jet Runway Cafe at Fort Lauderdale Airport and Silver Lining In-flight catering for private jets. So he is no stranger to quality food and service.
The Food and Staff are truly amazing, to say the least. For the superior customer service and food that is out of this world we highly recommend YOT. As I stated in the beginning it is the perfect spot for that romantic evening. You should expect to have million-dollar mega yachts and large boats as a backdrop, YOT Bar & Kitchen at The Lauderdale Marine Center is a boat lover’s dream come true. Needless to say, we will definitely be back and bring friends.
