Norman’s Tavern

Embarking on a fantastic SoFlo staycation at the Solara Bluegreen Resort in vibrant Miami, Doris and I decided to explore a local gem recommended by our close friend Leroy – Norman’s Tavern on Collins Ave. 🌴✨ After a quick Lyft ride from the resort, we were welcomed by George, offering us the choice of indoor or outdoor seating. Opting for the cozy indoor ambiance, we were handed menus and got ready for a culinary adventure.

Doris dove into the house specialty with a refreshing Guavarica, blending Don Julio, Guava Puree, Lime Juice, Club Soda, and Jalapeno. As for me, George crafted a unique Ilegal Mezcal concoction that left me wanting more. When I asked for the name, George revealed he hadn’t named it yet – a potential menu star in the making!

For starters, we indulged in the perfectly fried Calamari, fork-tender and golden perfection. Following Leroy’s wise suggestion, I went for the Skirt Steak, a 10 oz grilled Churrasco Steak with homemade Chimichurri. Doris opted for the Blackened Mahi Mahi with Salad and mashed potato, topped with a flavorful brown gravy. To cap off our culinary journey, George recommended the house-made Crème Brulee – an absolute revelation of thickness, creaminess, and crunchiness, easily making it to the top 3 in my books. 🍽️🔥

Norman’s Tavern isn’t just about the food; it’s a haven for fun with pool tables, dart boards, and TVs for sports enthusiasts. The versatile seating options – inside, outside, or at the bar – create a relaxed atmosphere. Cheers to Leroy for this outstanding recommendation! 🥂
